In a few short weeks OohBox will be a full year old!  I can’t believe how fast this year has flown.  A seed of an idea, a global pandemic, two lockdowns and zero holidays abroad (for me anyway) and here we are.

The idea came from trying to create a gift box for my other (some say better) half only to find that availability of some of my choices,  delivery times and charges were making it a very time consuming and somewhat expensive exercise.  Not that he’s not worth it, but with a growing family (grandkids appear to be like buses) and a business to run, time is not always my best friend.  I realised that I was not alone.  People are so busy these days, and of course with Covid we were house bound so the internet became the only place to shop for gifts.

The original gift box was created for a close friend who needed a new mum gift during lockdown.  It went down a storm and so we started to develop our “look”.  Crisp white boxes and a splash of colour where appropriate, we keep it neutral where necessary making our gifts available for both ladies and gents, boys and girls but go all out pink for our lovely ladies. Add the little touches in the wax seal and belly band and we've found a winning combination.

The Baby Gift Collection is my favourite, probably because I was a new grandma when we started and babies were my focus.   Developing the range from the baby gift box – “The Softee” and the “Mum to Be” luxury gift set into the “Making Music and Storytime” Gifts for older children has been a delight, it's so important to stimulate those little minds and kick start their imagination and creativity.  Now we’re thinking about the Christmas Collection I have had a ball and have put together our two “Babies First Christmas” gifts, (don’t tell him but baby Ivo's is already on the way to Santa)!   As the year has gone by we have created some beautiful gifts to share with the new arrival and the prospective parents.

I don’t know about you guys and gals but I love a bit of a pamper but sometimes it's hard to find “Me Time”.  I’ve already mentioned that life chez Julie is always busy and noisy, so to get time to have a soak in the bath, and just chill out is the best tonic (and better with gin)!  Most of my friends agree so I embarked upon finding small independent makers, putting them alongside well known established brands to create Relax and Pamper gift boxes for him and her.  Our range is constantly growing for this collection as we know how important it is to re-charge the batteries and indulge in a little bit of self-love, something we all feel guilty about but if you send one of our pamper boxes as a gift then your loved one has no excuse.  It would be rude not to enjoy and indulge!

Birthday gifts are a given in a gift shop but can be so personal.  We have tried to make our gift boxes suitable for all occasions, whether Practical Gifts or a sweet treat, they are all designed to shout “I’m thinking of you”!

It's been a hard year and most of the suppliers we talk to have had a bit of a rollercoaster, one of whom is our photographer.  Going from fully booked for wedding photography in 2020 to them all being cancelled was awful. Now weddings are back, and are happening all week, not just the weekends.  I have seen a big increase in sales of our Say Yes engagement gift box and our wedding mug sets

We have gifts for every occasion and budget, all gift wrapped and all delivered free to addresses on the UK mainland.  I think we’ve created a great solution to your gift buying problems and I really hope you agree.

Don’t forget, we have discounts available through November, free gift wrapping and free delivery.

Christmas? Sorted!

Enjoy,

Julie x
